Cost of living: Supermarkets encouraged to introduce voluntary price caps on some foods

Supermarkets are being encouraged to bring down the price of food staples such as bread and milk, as part of a government plan to help with the cost of living.

A government spokesperson said it’s not imposing price caps, and that any reduction would be voluntary and at the retailers’ discretion.

So could we see prices reduced in the near future and how? Ivor Bennett has been looking into it.
