Houses collapse after heavy rains trigger landslides in India

Several days of heavy monsoon have triggered numerous landslides in India’s mountainous Himalayan region and left at least 72 people dead.

Videos showed houses tumbling down hillsides, as landslides left roads impassable and villages cut off.

India’s weather department has put the state on high alert with the annual rains set to continue drenching the state.
